Welcome to the What is Statistics? Warehouse

Updated 14 Aug 2010

We use the book titled The Practice of Statistics, 3rd Edition, by Daniel S. Yates, David S. Moore, and Daren S. Starnes (the "YMS Book") as our text.

This Preliminary Chapter of Statistics introduces the concepts of data production, analysis, assessing probability, and drawing conclusions from data. The lessons are Microsoft Powerpoint slides designed to be used in class with the student notes. They are a mixture of my own slides and information taken from slides supplied with the textbook. I have noted the file size beside them for those who still must use dial-up connections. Any suggestions or comments are always welcome.
